A question for pistol packing WOMEN ONLY about dealing with female attackers.?

I can't believe I'm even asking this, but I've had three different female firearms/self-defense instructors separately tell me the best place to shoot a female attacker is the lower pelvic region. They say it'll cause faster incapacitation than a shot to her chest, because of how our uterus is SO vulnerable %26amp; our ovaries are so sensitive to pain. Extreme rapid blood loss %26amp; massive shock, yadda, yadda, yadda. They also say self-defense ammo is designed %26amp; powered for men and often goes right thru women, without energy transfer, endangering innocent bystanders. Better chance of the bullet stopping inside, downward angle if not.

Just thinking about it makes me queasy, but I don't want any of the local girl gangbangers taking me out, either! I don't doubt what they said for a second. I just don't like the idea, for obvious reasons.

So I want to ask the other pistol-packing WOMEN reading this what their thoughts are.|||Why can't a pistol-packing man answer the question?

Why can't a pistol-packing man have enough discretion, maturity %26amp; respect for women to not force himself into the designated target audience to whom the question was addressed?

I, too, teach women how to defend themselves against violent, predatory criminals - male and female. I know you find it distasteful, but those gals gave you the straight scoop. Violent female criminals have become a reality to the extent that training for confrontations with them is a necessary part of the overall lesson plan.

Nobody wants their bullet to pass through a mugger and then hit an innocent party! Everybody knows we have a much higher tolerance for pain than men do. This technique was borne out of a collaboration of female doctors and lawyers within the women's armed self-defense community. It totally overrides the level of pain even a determined woman can withstand and incapacitates her until the shock of the rapid blood loss renders her unconscious or flat out kills her - all while minimizing the danger to bystanders positioned behind her. Maximum effect, minimum liability.

I get the feeling you want to know if others who are trained in this technique could actually DO it in a justified shooting situation. I, for one, will not hesitate to use it, if my life (or that of my husband, son or daughter) is threatened by an armed female attacker! That WILL be my primary target, but I'll keep all options open.|||I don't carry, but I know something about anatomy. There's no surer death than a shot to the stomach or intestinal region. The victim goes septic immediately. It's different with the uterus--it's not really that vulnerable, you know. Think about the punishment it takes!|||[To Vintner] Yeah I saw, that's how they took out Lee Harvey Oswald. Personally I think women should pack shotguns, less likely to go stray.|||If you really believe your life is in danger, you do what you have to do.|||Any gal taking a hit there probably won't have time to go septic. Our uteruses are designed for long-term expansion, over nine months. Even if it's only a near miss (within three to five inches), the rapid expansion and contraction in that millisecond will be devastating! The impact will result in several ruptures that will create convulsive blood loss and hypovolemic shock. The shock wave will hit the ovaries, causing excruciating pain. A direct hit will be even worse. Either way, she's toast, almost instantly! Many in the women's self-defense community train for this because we know that female muggers choose female victims. Pretty sad what the world has come to. Glad you're getting some training!|||What? I can't believe someone would tell a person that. Surely to disarm a person you are meant to shoot them in the leg or arm?

A sane instructor wouldn't tell you to aim for a vital organ.|||If you point it, be prepared to shoot. If you shoot, be prepared for the outcome.

If you shoot someone in the leg Princess, you stand a very good chance of being sued. If you shoot to kill, end of problem. So a good instructor will tell you that unless you are prepared to take a life, don't do it.|||Why can't a pistol-packing man answer the question?

I was a primary marksmanship instructor back in the day. If you're under duress, your heart starts thudding in your chest, stress makes delicate movement impossible and you're in the fight-or-flight environment, you won't be able to squeeze out a shot aimed well enough to hit a person in the pelvic region.

Most shots fired with pistols by people in the defense are misses. Too many things go wrong and hitting targets with pistols, especially compact weapons made for purses, is incredibly difficult.

What you want to do is aim for 'center mass.' That means that you aim for the center of the person, maybe two or three inches above the belly button. This allows errors from blood pressure, breathing, poor stance, muscle fatigue, and mental stress to be minimized. If you aim lower, a round could go between the legs. If you aim in the center, you are most likely to hit the target.|||That's why I carry a tazer, just as incapacitating, but less lethal (not necessarily non-lethal).
