How angry would you get if you couldn't get tickets to see your favourite band?

A gig by heavy metal band Iron Maiden has ended in tears in Colombia after ticketless fans desperate to hear their heroes began to riot.

Over 100 people were arrested on Saturday as clashes broke out in the Colombian capital city Bogota, several hours before the band was due to play.

Police fired tear gas canisters at those who tried to enter the concert grounds without purchasing tickets.

Colombian media reported one police officer was hit when fans started throwing rocks.

Police officer Rolando Arturo Girata spoke from his hospital bed, saying he had been transferred there after being struck in the face.

Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood said only a minority of fans were involved and called on authorities not to react by banning metal acts.

He told Sky News Online:"We abhor the inane behaviour of a small minority of people outside.

"They do Iron Maiden, metal and the real Colombian fans a disservice and sadly just provide a reason for the military to feel they need to be there.

"Our fans are there for the MUSIC. We definitely intend to return to Colombia and trust the authorities will not be swayed to banning Maiden and metal because of a minority of troublemakers spoiling it for the huge majority of true Iron Maiden fans.".......

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-N鈥?/a>|||I saw something terrible once when The Gin Blossoms were due to play hicksville Indiana.

In the queue was some Scottish bloke and the tickets ran out JUST as he got to the front..anyway...he had a hissy and had to be restrained with a taser and a water cannon.

He looked bit shifty anyway tbh...no shoes ;-)

EDIT- Concede that is shocking...That JOMAMO and her family get everywhere. The shame.|||i would stick out my bottom lip and stamp my feet and say that no fair anything else is a tad extreme.|||on a scale of 1-10 id be a 2, in other words id move on with my life.|||How about what if you couldn't get the liver for yourself that you needed or couldn't save the life of someone close to you there's much more important things in life. Besides most musical acts sound better in Studio than they do live.|||so angry, i would get red and start biting everyone|||Well, Iron Maiden fans are a different breed. I am about to marry one...and I got him free tickets to a show, and there was a mix up- and he almost didn't get in (it got resolved)- BUT- if he hadn't - he may have gotten arrested.|||If I had queued for hours on end, I'd be pretty hopping mad, and use more than a few swear words, but after a day, I'd get over it, and vow to get some 'next time'. But hey, Colombians - passionate, right?|||well first of all, some of us still need to answer the question of: What IS your favorite band?

i dont know mine still :\|||I'd crush a grape....|||Well, at least they were passionate about it. It means something to these people (Even if it is a band of middle age men making tutonic screeches about dungeons and dragons). If it was in the UK and it was a Keane Concert, they'd probably just walk back to Clapham or wherever they live and go 'oh well'.|||Well I for one have seen Maiden and could understand the frustration of anyone without tickets

Regarding the Blossoms I can understand the upset, I too missed out on a Gin Blossoms concert because some Scouser in a shell suit sold me a dodgy ticket to pay for their holiday to Prestytan

But to those who know nothing of the Gin Blossoms, please feel free to educate yourself

A very apt title for the questioner and one of the answerers I might add

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGMii43ft鈥?/a>|||I would cop off with one of the roadies and go back to the hotel to meet them anyway.

(was a very long time ago...)|||They have just been to our country...Sold out..

They all look amazing %26amp; the main guy works as a pilot for an International airline, is a fencing champion %26amp; looks so young.

They even have their own plane!!!

We had no troublemakers here, but we are a smaller country.

The Beatles caused more trouble with tickets, in the 60's.
