I have a VHS, that I want to transfer onto a DVD. The VHS should record fine. I read online that sometimes copyrighted VHS have some sort of protection, but this tape was itself just something recorded off tv several years ago. So that鈥檚 can鈥檛 be what鈥檚 wrong. When I try and record the VHS onto the DVD, it records, but it comes out in black and white. I tried several different tapes, and they all came out in black and white. I noticed that when I played a VHS, (without recording) on the player, but pressed DVD on the remote controller, it switched to black and white. Don鈥檛 know if that has anything to do with it or not. Also I looked up the player online, and found something that said if you used some option, that鈥檚 called 鈥楧ubbing鈥?on the controller, it records the contents of the VHS onto the DVD. I did that. Still black and white.
Any suggestions of what I could possibly be doing wrong?
I have a Panasonic DMR-ES30V. I wrote to Panasonic for help, and they were extremely unhelpful.
Also, the DVD-RW I鈥檝e been using, I did buy it oversees. The brand is TDK, it says on the back TDK Recording Media Europe, and it also says in the upper right-hand corner 鈥楻W 2'. I don鈥檛 know, do DVD-RWs have regions like normal DVDs? If so, could this be the problem?|||easy answer to your complicated question.
your source is playing in PAL
and your destination is playing in NTSC
or vice versa
you will need both to match. once they match the video will play fine.
if your dvd-rw cant do both PAL and/or NTSC then get something that can. beside dvd are history. go hard drive.|||Some tests to do
a) Play the VHS tape directly to the TV, is it in color? If no, there is a problem with the player or the tape or the cable itself. If Yes,
b) Play the VHS tape through the Recorder (Just play - NO recording). Can you see the tape in color? If No, you have either a recorder problem or a cable problem. If yes,
c) Now press record.
If it is not in color, then there is a problem with the recorder.
