5 Years of loyal service, a heart attack that went horribly because there was a lapse in the company insurance (the hospital is trying to sue me for 31k) and today I got the Notice they're closing the central New York Office.
I'm 42, My savings have gone to shite..I cashed my 401k over the summer after the heart attack to make ends meet and now I am on my own in 8 weeks...
Why is this in politics?
The reason the company offered for closing my office is a simple one. Upstate NY is no longer a profitable area for business. between long winters High Tax's and a mass exodus over the last few years the new policy Numbers don't equal the incoming claims.. thus they are abandoning the region. In the note it hints that there may be the possibility for a transfer to another state either out west or down south.. but there is no further information and it suggests that I should stay up on the company 'online bulletin board" for updates.

Thats what we were told and they even showed us a video of the slaves that took our jobs and how badly they needed them.
It's not a republican or democrat thing. It's globalization and seems that both sides are selling us out. Trickle down economics from the republicans and NAFTA from the democrats. I feel your frustration because I have been through it too.

I would consider picking up the left over accounts, personally, or through a new business.
