I am checking this out next week but I was curious to see if this has happened to anyone or if anyone heard of this happening because they have completely left me in the dark and I can't find out anything until next week.
I was with Amsouth then they got bought out by Regions. I've had a savings account for over 15 years. When I looked today to transfer some money, I found out that Regions has charged me a $21 monthly fee. I looked on their website and the only thing mentioning a monthly fee was a $4 fee for not having a minimum amount in the account. I didn't see anything mentioning the $21 monthly fee at all.
They have not mentioned to me anything about a monthly fee before so they completely left me in the dark.|||All they have is that $4 fee if you don't keep a $300 min balance.
There is an excessive Withdrawal/Item Fee of $3 per withdrawal in excess of 3 per month.
/|||I'd call their customer service and see if there's some error. If not they can at least explain what they did so you can fix it so that they don't charge you again.
Friends of mine who used to use AmSouth were really unhappy with the change to Regions. If they don't have a good answer for you, you might want to change banks.
