College Accreditation?

The school that I would like to attend is accredited by SACS (southern association of colleges and schools). Does this mean that my credits are only good for schools in this accrediting region. Like say for instance if i wanted to transfer to a school in California, would my credits be valid for a school in that particular accreditation region?

Also, if my school were to lose accreditation, how would I know? Are they supposed to inform you? And also if that were to happen, what should I do? Should I leave that school right when it happens, or finish out that term?

Any answers are appreciated|||SACS is a regional accrediting agency. Regional accreditation is the best kind of accreditation - it means your credits should transfer anywhere and your degree will be recognized. National accreditation isn't as good as region and credits often won't transfer. Yes, your school must inform you if they loose accreditation, because a non-accredited degree is worthless.
