Is this a scam? And can I get a disease from a dog????? Please tell me now!!?

Ok me and my mom are looking for a Pomeranian and found a lady named Jessica whos selling 2. Im scared shes a scam though. She said "like i said in the mail i am now located in the western bay of Cameroon were i was transfer to work here so i will only be able to ship the puppies but first i will like you to answer all my questions accordingly so that i will make sure you will be taking very good care of them." Where is Cameroon? if it in africa? or florida? or NC? How do I know if she is a scam? and I dont want to pay and have no dogs come! its 365 for both. And if I do get the dogs and there from africa can I get a disease? They are like a couple months. I found her on a dog site and messaged her so its not like she messaged me out of no where. Please tell me if shes a scam. and this is what she first sent me:

There are NO puppies. And even if there were, that is a long way to ship such young pups.

I got an e-mail about 2 weeks ago stating the same thing.


I would never buy a dog from a person via the internet.


You don't know what you're getting.


You're better off going to your local shelter.


Here, $100 will get you the dog with all of it's shots, guaranteed disease free, spay/neuter.


And you can SEE the dog, play with the dog %26amp; see if it's right for your family.


Don't buy a dog from a person you don't know via the internet.|||Definately a scam. Stay far far far away from scams like this.



Go to the AKC website and you will find a breeder referral section, that's a safe way to find a breeder. Or go down to your local animal shelter. You may find the dog you are looking for there. :)



As far as your other question, yes some illnesses can be passed back and forth between humans and their dogs.

Google Cameroon Pet Scam - this scam has been exposed on every scambusting site for the past 10 years. I can't believe there are still people who are not aware of this





It's impossible to ship any animal under 6 months old internationally - they die in transit





You cannot import any animals from Africa, they would be put to sleep immediately upon arrival in the US if by miracle they survived the journey. Only zoos and animal research facilities with dedicated quarantine facilities can import animals from Africa. The animals have to be met at the airport by a vet who immediately puts them into quarantine for a minimum of 6 months





It costs at least $2000 to ship any animal internationally. I know because a friend had to ship her dog when she moved from London to NY and $2300 was the cheapest rate she could find after calling 5 different pet shippers
